Immunotherapy Allergy Treatment

 

Immunotherapy involves allowing a small amount of the allergen (in the form of a prescribed tablet) dissolve under your tongue daily. This allows the body to become accustomed, building tolerance, to the allergen and thereby reducing the symptoms that the person experiences when exposed to the allergen.

We currently offer immunotherapy for house dust mite allergy, grass pollen allergy and tree pollen allergy.

House dust mite immunotherapy can be started at any point in the year. However, grass and tree pollen immunotherapy has to start once the grass or tree pollen season has finished and at least 16 weeks prior to the grass or tree pollen season starting.

If you would to be considered for our immunotherapy treatment programme, please arrange an initial assessment with Dr Carlton-Conway who will assess your suitability and provide more information. If you are suitable and wish to proceed from there, the total programme lasts for three years.
