EURneffy is a needle free adrenaline device

EURneffy is a newer, needle-free alternative to traditional adrenaline auto-injectors for the emergency treatment of anaphylaxis. It is a small and fairly compact device and is administered via the nostril in an emergency.

EURneffy is suitable for individuals over 30 kg. Guidance from guidance from the British Society for Allergy & Clinical Immunology suggests it should not yet be relied upon as the sole rescue therapy in higher-risk groups (such as those who have previously required more than one dose of adrenaline or those who have experienced severe anaphylaxis involving hypotension, something which is more common in those with allergy to insect venom). These higher risk groups should continue to carry an adrenaline auto-injector, although they could also carry EURneffy to be used initially.

As with all anaphylaxis treatment, an ambulance should be called immediately after administration. Training materials and a trainer device is available via the manufacturer’s website alongside a demonstration video.
